November Recap
As the holidays approach and the year comes to a close, the weekends have become busy with back to back races and events. November 9th kicked off the month with a collaboration between Hardkour and Epic Interval held on the sands of Huntington Beach. Hardkour team members, Tony and Annaliese took first in round one and Jimmy and Christina dominated round two, winning themselves free entries to any Epic Series race in 2020.
The following weekend found Hardkour split at three races. Tony, Bitesize, Minh, TT, Johnson, Rodrigo, and Coach Nukes made it to Laughlin, Nevada for Saturday’s Spartan Super. Tony ran a perfect burpee free race snagging forth and due to a controversial penalty, Bitesize also took fourth in his age group instead of a podium spot. Johnson and Coach Nukes took top ten in their age groups and crushed the course. TT, Papa Rod, and Minh each had solid runs with Minh celebrating his first year in OCR with a strong return to Laughlin beating his 2018 time by over an hour!
Over at Rugged Maniac in Temecula, power couple Jimmy and Christina battled it out with Jimmy taking 2nd and Christina coming in 5th! And finally, there was the Terrain Race in Irvine where Annaliese represented HK and HK Nutrition on Saturday serving banana bread to over a 1,000 people. Sunday brought out a few of our athletes racing a few laps for fun.
The weekend of the 23rd took Justin, Minh, TT, and Sarah up to San Francisco for the Oracle Park Spartan Stadium. We want to give a shout out and huge congrats to Sarah for taking home a $200 prize for coming in 9th for women’s Elite wave! At the same time, again down in Irvine, Annaliese again represented HK and HK Nutrition at Cool Event’s first Muddy Dash with first a booth sampling and later a 2x run of the race.
And so November has come to a close and December is in full swing with Christmas and new year of racing just around the corner. This next weekend, we will find the team again split at Castaic for another Spartan weekend and Hermosa Beach for the Burpee Mile and the following weekend for the last race of the year in Los Olivos. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
