Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Price.

A formally trained dancer, Pamela is an obstacle course athlete and American Ninja Warrior competitor. She began her dance training at the Portland Ballet Company in Maine before studying contemporary and Luigi jazz, while simultaneously running track & field, as well as cross country; specializing in hurdles and long-distance.

She taught dance in New York City and ran the dance department for YMCA’s “Strong Kids Campaign” as well as their after-school hip-hop classes for youth and teens. Choreographing for musicals including “Cabaret” and “Pippin” at French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts, Pamela served as co-head of their dance department. She has choreographed for music videos, including Kaneholler’s “Lite Brite” single.

Currently teaching at Dance Refuge studio in Los Angeles and taking on freelance choreography projects, she competes in OCR events every month. Placing 3rd in her Age Group at the USA OCR National Championships at Spartan Race in December 2018, she was then scouted for American Ninja Warrior and cast on Season 11. Throughout the year, she competes in various obstacle course races, trail races, climbing competitions and more, including: Tough Mudder, Spartan Race, Epic Series, RutCamp’s OCR Throwdown, Machete Madness Trail Race, etc. Pamela represents the Pro Race Team, Hardkour Performance.

When not competing, Pamela is the Vice President of LATF USA, a daily lifestyle/entertainment news site, as well as the Executive Producer of the annual award show, The Hollywood Beauty Awards, known as the ‘Oscars of Beauty.’ At LATF, she directs story assignments, runs content management, social media, conducts celebrity interviews, and oversees the creative process/design of the news site and magazine. She writes film reviews, fitness tips, gear/apparel must-haves and race highlights. As an award show producer, she runs talent booking, board, and award roster correspondence and oversees the show’s production.

I was scouted in fall 2018 for Season 11 of American Ninja Warrior. I also live with a rare autoimmune disease called Behcets disorder.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

I was diagnosed with Behcets disease – a rare autoimmune disorder and inflammation of the blood vessels. As an athlete – it can be difficult and challenging when I experience flares: ulcers, severe weakness, chronic vertigo, etc.

What else should our readers know?

A veteran of the entertainment industry – Michele Elyzabeth took me under her wing when I was just out of college and taught me the ropes of business, from PR to producing and journalism.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?

Strength and perseverance. The more pressure the better on production days and training/race days. I was taught to never ever give up.
