Who's Ready to be Epic?
The HKP team is always ready for an EPIC weekend! Very exciting to sponsor Epic Series Huntington Beach (@epic_series) as we enjoyed sponsoring the Epic Series at the Los Angeles Police Department earlier in the year.
This time it was hosted at the HB Sports Complex which is close to where we host lots of our training so we could not miss this opportunity! It was a great day to have our team compete and represent on the obstacle course portion. We had one of our HKelite's, Georgis T., do both the Epic (OCR) and Elite (strongman) portion, which is tough on ANY athlete competing especially in the heat lately in Southern California.
As always, we had our booth set up as we hosted our HARDKOUR CHALLENGE. A timed challenge for both males and females that include our sandbags. Males have to complete as many of our HK Burpees (Burpee > Clean > Front Squat) in one minute as Females have to complete as many bear hug front squats in one minute. Top male and female receive prizes from us. This year, we had Dylan from Brazyn Performance (@brayzn_life) completing 17 HK Burpees taking the top score for the males and Latrice S. completing 56 bear hug squats taking the top score for the females who is the TWO-TIME champ for our challenge!!
Not only did we give away freebies to those that came to our booth, we also created some exclusive apparel for all 24 winners of Epic Series in all categories.
We hope that everyone had a great time as much as we did. Such a pleasure seeing familiar faces that came to train with us and then competed. Hard work truly does pay off!
