Chino - 2020 Season Opener

If there's one thing the Hardkour team does right, it’s kicking off the season with a bang. The Chino Spartan Super and Sprint weekend was no exception. HK team members showed up  wearing #ACB shirts in honor of JB’s brother who recently passed. We walked away with 5 podiums, 5 first time racers, and a huge team turnout including new team members: Jason from Washington, and Kyle from Hollywood, California.

Saturday’s Super brought out first time racers Tim, Jerry, and Anjelica along with a strong cheer squad of team mates on the sidelines. Bitesize, JB, and Sarah all swept the first place podium spots in their respective age groups, setting up Sunday’s Squad for nothing but success.

Sunday, found JB and Justin chillin with Matt from VJ Shoes and a few more podium placements namely, JB taking the 35-39 AG 2nd place and Sarah dominating with 1st in her age group (35-39) making back to back golds on back to back race days. Power couple Chantel and Dr. Jon joined the fun and represented Hardkour in their first Spartan race with Chantel taking 11th in her age group. Beastmami, lived up to her name and took placed 10th in her age group qualifying her for NorAms along with Anjelica who took 5th in the 25-29 age group! Anjelica, JB, Sarah, Georgis and Johnson raced back to back days.

Despite the terrain riddled with gopher holes, there were thankfully no injuries amidst the HK racers unlike last year, yet the new olympus was a game changer coming at athletes with a steeper and more slippery surface ending in more burpees than desired. With Spartan revamping their set up, the Age Group division is proving to be more crowded and competitive. But Hardkour is in the throws of “de-fluffing” season, and the team of 2019 is quickly morphing into a hungry breed with 2020 vision.
