Grit OCR 2020
Hardkour attended Grit’s 3rd OCR race back on the 22nd of February. Representing not only as a race team but also as a race sponsor and vendor, Grit participants found themselves gathering at the HK tent for some sandbag and battle jump rope challenges along with HK Nutrition banana bread. The course was filled with obstacles; the highlights for the HK team being: “Potassium” a ring-banana-ring rig, “Flaming Legs” an eight lane sandbag ruck up and down the hill side, and a 2+ mile trail ruck. This made for a fun and challenging course, a nice change from the commonly attended Spartan races.
Saturday was the beautiful 8-mile Claw course where our resident Greek Stallion, Georgis, smoked the competition, claiming first overall. Holding the fastest course time earned him a $500 check, in addition, to first place on the men's podium. Be sure to check out the article from LATF featuring Georgis's accomplishments. Later, Annaliese came speeding down the last switch back and into the last obstacles having passed the 2nd place female and crossing the finish line taking the second place podium for herself.
Sunday’s 3-mile Fang course sent racers on the same course map but with an interesting twist, everything was run in reverse. Georgis, yet again, finished first repeating the previous days accomplishment. His winnings for the weekend coming to a total of $1,000 (not a bad weekend to say the least)! But Sunday’s mens podium also found HKelite Jimmy Stratton, after an epic belly slide into the finish line, standing proud on the 3rd place podium.
Huge thank you to power couples, Terry & Jenni and Antonio & Malorie for hosting a wonderful event, and congratulations on your newest little addition! HK is already looking forward to next year!
